Perovskite-Inspired Materials: The ROAD Ahead (ROAD)

Description of the granted funding

ROAD unlocks the potential of lead-free perovskite-inspired materials (PIMs) for sustainable indoor photovoltaics (IPV) and ferroelectric devices—moving beyond conventional solar cell applications overshadowed by lead halide perovskites. The project delivers predictive modeling tools, domain-engineering strategies, and a curated library of compositions with precisely tuned bandgaps and symmetry. These efforts aim to establish standardized IPV characterization and pave the way for smart, self-powered IoT systems. ROAD positions PIMs as stable, efficient, and eco-friendly energy solutions, fostering interdisciplinary advances in chemistry, materials science, and data-driven design.
