Infrastructure description
Flavoria is a multidisciplinary research platform. The research conducted in Flavoria focuses on producing new scientific knowledge and consumer understanding for the sustainable development of both society and businesses. It is a unique lunch restaurant and cafe in the campus area, and at the same time research and development facility. Flavoria platform collects long-term data on customer food choices and measures the amount of bio-waste produced. MyFlavoria is Flavoria's research application that allows users to participate in the development of new food solutions, learn about their nutritional intake and earn bonus rewards. Next to restaurant and cafe, there is a separate research space, Aistikattila, which is a systematic research, design and testing laboratory for multi-sensory experiences. Experiences can be modified through pictures and videos, soundscape, lights and scents.
Scientific description
The research platform is not discipline-specific and can be used in several different scientific disciplines. These include nutrition and consumer research, behavioral sciences, health sciences, education sciences, technology and architecture.
