Helsinki XR Center – the home of Extended Realities opened its doors in early 2019. Located in Helsinki Arabia next to Metropolia University of Applied Sciences culture campus, HXRC is an incubator for talent, a cultural hub for co-creation and learning for all XR artists, entrepreneurs, engineers, scientists, students and enthusiasts. HXRC aims to become the leading innovation, development and startup center in the Europe dedicated to VR and AR technologies. Helsinki XR Center is operated by Metropolia University of Applied Sciences together with Finnish Virtual Reality Association FIVR.
Scientific description
HXRC offers state-of-art facilities and equipment for XR (Extended Reality) research and development, including high capacity workstations, headsets, software, mobile devices. HXRC offers also green screen, motion capture and media studios for researchers and developers. All HXRC facilities including co-working space and showroom are open for academic and business purposes.
