Finnish pulsation magnetometer network

Finnish pulsation magnetometer network

Infrastructure description

Finnish pulsation magnetometer network includes induction coil magnetometer stations in Finland and Northern Scandinavia operated and owned by Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory, University of Oulu.

Scientific description

The Finnish pulsation magnetometer network monitor fast variations of the Earth magnetic field up to 35Hz including geomagnetic pulsations (Pc1-Pc5), ionospheric Alfven resonators, EMIC-waves and Schumann resonance from the latitude coverage 60°N to 70°N (L-shells: 3.4-6.5). The analysed data is usually presented in spectral images.
