Currently I am working as Professor of Sociology of Education at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Helsinki, Finland, and more particularly within the Research Unit focusing on the Sociology and Politics of Education (KUPOLI). https://www.helsinki.fi/en/researchgroups/sociology-and-politics-of-education After my doctoral thesis Drafting Education Legislation for the Competitive State – The Parliament of Finland and the 1990s Change in Education Policy (2007) I have worked / am working in eleven research projects altogether, in eight of them as a principal investigator. All of these projects are closely connected to issues of educational equality and governance of education – the range of objects of inquiry varying from nation states to social classes, and from municipalities to ethnic groups. In terms of teaching, my repertoire as a lecturer consist of a wide variety of courses since 2008. They are built upon general themes on sociology, history, administration and economics of education.
