Liyanage Ruchira

Doctoral Researcher

Description

Doctoral student in the Faculty of Built Environment at Tampere University, with a strong passion for building physics, built heritage, and climate resilience in buildings. My research primarily focuses on developing building archetypes for Finnish residential buildings, exploring their evolution and resilience in the face of climate challenges. Additionally, I am interested in communal architectural governance models, insurgent planning, and urban activism, examining how bottom-up approaches can shape more sustainable and inclusive built environments. My background in architecture includes expertise in sustainable design, passive building strategies, urban climate, thermal comfort, computational climate simulations, and post-occupancy building evaluation, along with experience as a project architect.
