Results

Results and impact

Collected background material for the National Fishway Strategy will be published in report series of Ministry of Aquaculture and Forestry by the end of year 2011. Instead of widely used stocking in management of fish populations, the National Strategy will state the future guidelines to enable natural reproduction of fish. Organizations related to fish and environmental management will benefit from the presented guide-lines for the evaluation of biological, technical, and socio-economical aspects in assessing and prioritizing fishway projects. Authorities may also exploit the given priority list of the top fishway projects.
