Objectives of the project
The detection of the so called ?hiding crayfish plague? within the noble crayfish population can nowadays be done by new diagnostic methodology. The sampling technology, timing and sample size has to be determined for the development of practical guidelines.

The better understanding of the nature of the crayfish plague aids in maintaining the noble crayfish populations in Finland, and on the other hand, improves the results of the management of the sustainable populations.
