Results and impact
The aims of the program are conforming collaboration of fisheries and veterinary authorities and researchers in Finland and Russia, and development of networks which promote R&D-cooperation and business opportunities between the countries. The main sectors of the program are: 1. Diversification and sustainable development of aquaculture production. 2. Responsible management of fishery resources. Diversification and sustainable development of aquaculture production has three subareas; Capacity building for the development of industry orientated aquaculture research in North-West Russia, encouragement of the use of best possible rearing material and fish health. Responsible management of fishery resources includes improvement of fishing possibilities and good quality of the products.
