As a part of the CART project "the mould room techniques in radiotherapy" -review was collected from the literature available to help the users in the choice of different techniques. The present review of mould room techniques has been divided into three main areas: 1) techniques for immobilization of patients in radiotherapy, 2) compensating filters, 3) blocking filters (field shaping blocks). Furthermore, aspects of occupational safety in mould room technology have been discussed.
