Abstract
This document is the 2023 annual report for SAFER2028 (National Nuclear Safety and Waste Management Research Programme 2023-2028). SAFER2028 is a six-year technical and scientific research programme funded by the National Nuclear Waste Management Fund (VYR), as well as other key organisations operating in the field of nuclear energy. The annual VYR research funding in SAFER2028 is approximately 7,5 million euros distributed among the six thematic research areas of SAFER2028: overall safety and society, reactor safety and fuel, nuclear waste management, mechanical and structural safety of NPP's, doctoral education network (DENSE) and infrastructure. The annual report describes volume (euros, person years) and participating organisations of the research programme, as well as the key results from each project. Some key performance indicators for the research programme are also investigated. The report has been written by the SAFER2028 administrative project MINION in collaboration with SAFER2028 project managers.
