Abstract

Digital transformation (DT) has emerged as a critical driver of value creation under the industry 4.0 paradigm, which is distinguished by advanced technologies and data-driven processes. In doing so the primary objective of this research study is to examine the influential role of digital transformation on the supply chain performance of an organization through the utilization of smart technologies. The current research study employed a reliable and precisely well-structured questionnaire to gather information from 120 participants representing 41 local and multinational companies (MNCs) located in Pakistan. The hypothesized relationships are analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and Partial Least Squares-Multi Group Analysis (PLS-MGA). The findings of this research demonstrate that the deployment of digital transformation in an organization plays a significant role in improving a firm’s supply chain performance. Furthermore, the applications of smart technologies are essential in establishing a connection between digital transformation and the supply chain performance of an organization. This research helps to promote digital supply chain by examining the function of smart technologies as a mediator between digital transformation and firms’ supply chain performance from the perspective of local and multinational companies (MNCs).
