Abstract

Industry has a constant, if not increasing, demand for professionals with knowledge and competencies in Purchasing and Supply Management (PSM). Universities continue to be a primary source for creating that knowledge and disseminating those insights through published research, industry presentations and discussions, and with students in the classroom. Educating students at a variety of levels, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive, is a primary task of many educators’ jobs. However, there is a dearth of resources available, outside of several textbooks, published cases, and a handful of scattered published articles to help inform educators in how to improve course delivery, content, and student outcomes when teaching concepts and practices in PSM. The purpose of this two-part Special Issue is to disseminate current research and practice in PSM education and pedagogy. Our hope is that the insights from the articles in this Special Issue will help PSM educators by informing them of innovative pedagogical delivery methods, providing relevant course and program content and developing student competencies that translate into improving industry practice.
