Enabling Mobile Terahertz Communication for 6G Cellular Networks
Description of the granted funding
This project will develop the basis for 6G mobile systems operating in THz spectrum, introducing new solutions for the modeling and operations of such networks. Overall, the goal is to provide support for applications that require consistent, ultra-high data rates by improving the reliability and efficiency of the physical and link layers, and by introducing mechanisms for service continuity and management of intermittent connectivity at the system level. The project will contribute to the scientific development of THz communications and will help trigger an exponential growth in scientific output and disclosure of THz communication research. The deliverables of the project (including papers, talks, datasets) will largely accelerate the development of commercial THz systems, which are envisioned to play a key role in the future hyperconnected society.
