Centria- Innogate laboratories

Infrastructure description

Innogate's laboratory facilities are a set of eight laboratories, with a selection of equipment that allows us to study the chemical composition of samples as well as their chemical and physical properties and structures. The laboratory infrastructure we use enables versatile research in the areas of organic and inorganic chemistry as well as material science. In the laboratories, you can find a wide range of devices and equipment related to thermal, inorganic and organic analysis, as well as testing and processing of materials. These complement Centria's other laboratory infrastructure and equipment. In the laboratories of the Innogate building, our experts work daily on many different research and development projects and customer service activities, utilizing the laboratory's versatile infrastructure to meet the needs of our research and our customers. With the equipment of Innogate's laboratory facilities, we can determine the elemental composition of samples and identify compounds and determine their concentrations and properties. In thermoanalysis (e.g. TGA, DSC, DMA, STA) the properties of the sample are observed as time and/or temperature change under defined conditions. In addition to the temperature, the composition of the atmosphere surrounding the sample can be regulated and changed during the analysis. In addition, as support for thermal devices, we can use infrared spectrometry to analyse decomposition gases. To support organic and inorganic analytics, the organic chemistry research equipment includes e.g. gas and liquid chromatography equipment (GCMS with different techniques and HPLC). In addition, we use near-infrared spectrometry (NIR), Ultraviolet-visible light spectrometer (UV-Vis), ICP-MS for small concentration analytics in a clean room, ion chromatograph (IC) for anion and cation measurements as well as wet combustion and Kjeldahl equipment for nitrogen determination. Equipment needed for sample processing to handle smaller and larger sample quantities, e.g. shredders and freeze dryers and other necessary small equipment can also be found in the Innogate laboratories.
