Description

In my PhD project, I investigate the expression of motion situations in Finnish, combining questions of language-internal and cross-linguistic variation. In my upcoming articles, I use visually elicited data to explore variation in the expression of semantic categories such as Path and Frames of Reference. Together with my colleagues, I also look at the data from the perspective of event segmentation and compare the Finnish results to similar data from the closely related Estonian language. My teaching experiences include courses on scientific writing and language planning.
