Abstract
This case aims to create a discussion to assess whether China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), launched in 2013, can still be a remedy for the country’s slowing economic growth. Despite its promises to deliver economic, social, and political benefits to China and BRI member countries, some challenges may hinder the implementation of this mega project. Students will discuss what the governments of China and BRI member countries should do to ensure smooth implementation of BRI projects, and what other initiatives China could undertake to improve its competitiveness and revitalize its slowing economic growth.
