Many-body physics in the quantum information era

Description of the granted funding

Quantum simulation and computing are emerging fields that hold great promise for advancing various domains of science and society. These fields have attracted the attention of many scientists, entrepreneurs, and investors who are curious about the capabilities and applications of this technology. The quantum devices available today, with 50-100 operational qubits, are still limited in their computational power, but they can offer a preview of the future possibilities. One of the first goals of quantum computing is to achieve breakthroughs in the understanding of fundamental physics of complex quantum systems. In this project, we investigate the quantum information aspects of conventional many-body systems, as well as the physics of emerging quantum devices, to address some of the most important questions in quantum simulation and quantum information at the moment.
